'Te Katiteuanaaki' Kiribati for Inclusion

Supporting access to inclusive skills training for I-Kiribati Australia is proud to have supported the skills and technical training of I-Kiribati over the past 10 years through its partnership with the Ministry of Employment and Human Resource. The Kiribati Institute of Technology provides internationally recognised qualifications. Australia is pleased to have supported the Government of Kiribati’s goal of a “skilled and flexible I-Kiribati workforce” which is resulting in better employment opportunities for I-Kiribati in Kiribati and overseas. The program has also achieved greater access to training for women, persons with disabilities and those that are disconnected from formal schooling and the workforce. Mr Bruce Cowled , Australian High Commissioner to Kiribati 10 years of support for I-Kiribati skills education Scope Global is proud to be implementing the Australian Government supported Kiribati Facility that contributes towards inclusive skills education at Kiribati Institute of Technology, as well as sustainable social and economic growth through increasing employment opportunities for all I-Kiribati. The Kiribati Facility is now in Phase II following the successful implementation of Phase I and previously, the Kiribati Technical and Vocational Education and Training Sector Strengthening Program Phases I and II. These earlier investments laid the foundations for the successful delivery of the Kiribati Facility. Congratulations to all I-Kiribati and international staff who have played a role in achieving this 10-year milestone. David Travers , Executive Chairman, Scope Global Leading local resilience with international support I am proud to represent the Kiribati Facility at Kiribati Institute of Technology. Since joining the Kiribati Facility team, I have witnessed major achievements that have been supported by the the Australian Government, the Ministry of Employment and Human Resource and local and international partners. These include the launch of the Kiritimati Island Campus, the expansion of our Bridging courses, presenting in the ‘Innovation Spotlight’ at the inaugural Pacific Skills Summit in Fiji, and Kiribati Institute of Technology’s own 50th Anniversary. The Kiribati Facility has supported the professional growth and leadership of staff which has in turn increased skills development and employment opportunities for I-Kiribati youth and workers. It has been my privilege to work with and learn from the staff at Kiribati Institute of Technology and the Kiribati Facility. Jason Flello , Team Leader, Kiribati Facility Creating a skilled and flexible I-Kiribati workforce The Ministry of Employment and Human Resource, on behalf of the people and the Government of the Republic of Kiribati, wishes to express its sincere appreciation for the great support and assistance from the people and the Government of Australia to skills development through the technical training offered at our very own Kiribati Institute of Technology for the past 10 years. The success of this partnership is evidenced in the internationally recognised qualifications offered to students, with graduates securing jobs in Government, State Owned Enterprises and in the private sector. Increasingly, those who have trained at Kiribati Institute of Technology are now participating in labour mobility schemes in Australia and New Zealand. We acknowledge with deep gratitude the support from the Kiribati Facility and we look forward to continuing to work closely in the future. I offer our traditional blessings of Te Mauri, Te Raoi ao Te Tabomoa (Good Health, Peace and Prosperity). Mrs Taabeta Teakai Amuera , Honorable Minister
